Error: "File Not Compatible"
The "File Not Compatible" error is going to show up anytime a PDF file is taking too long to load or preview (leading FileCenter to believe it has frozen). Here are the places where you could see it, and what to do about it:
Previewing a PDF
Previewing a PDF is the most common place to see this error. Fortunately, this is also where you have the most options. FileCenter 6 and newer come with three different PDF preview options. Try switching between the different previewers. One may work better than the others. Switch previewers using the "Preview" task button, or under the "Tools" menu > "Settings" > "Preview" > "PDF Preview".
Opening a PDF in Acrobat
If you're opening a PDF by double-clicking it or using the Open button, you shouldn't normally see the error since the file will be opening in Acrobat. If you do see the error, it's probably coming from the preview window. Try closing the previewer first, then open the PDF.
Opening a PDF in FileCenter
If you're trying to open the PDF in FileCenter and you see this error, it means FileCenter froze or hung trying to open it. In this case, it truly is incompatible.
